The aim of this course is to introduce you to cruising and to teach personal safety, seamanship and helmsmanship to the level required to be a competent crew member on a cruising yacht. This course is live aboard for four nights, includes all meals, and is run with three or four students to one instructor. This ratio ensures individual tuition and comfortable living onboard.

The course covers the skills needed to skipper a small cruising yacht by day in waters which you are familiar with. The course comprises of navigation, pilotage, boat handling, seamanship and safety at sea. After successful completion of this course you will possess the ability and knowledge needed to skipper a yacht on short passages. You will also receive an I.S.A. certificate once you have completed the course.

This is a skippering course for sailors who have a good knowledge of sailing and navigation and are aiming at skippering a yacht on coastal passages. The course comprises a mix of boat handling, pilotage, navigation, night sailing and safety procedures.
